Coltsfoot first puts a flower out, the leaves come later.
I can offer several healthy coltsfoot plants, which are difficult to come by.
Coltsfoot
is a freely spreading plant. It is an ancient folk remedy for asthma
and coughs. Leaves are used as a poultice to relieve inflammation. The
leaf of coltsfoot is also an ingredient in many native American smoking
mixtures. In my experience, it prefers wet areas with poor soil.
Coltsfoot is perennial, herbaceous and frost resistant. It grows to 0.3m
x 0.2m.
The leaves, and sometimes the buds and flowers were used.
