Egyptian Mint, Mentha x niliaca, a mild culinary mint
A culinary mint with history.
A perfect addition to tabouleh, this mint has a lighter leave colour and elongated leaves. The habit is open and sprawling and best grown in containers. The taste is more subtle and Egyptian mint can be used more generously. In my garden, it grows about 50 cm high.
This is a herb with history: it is believed that this is the mint mentioned in the bible and that it dates back to the times of the pharaohs. Perfect for the historically inspired garden!
